What causes weight gain? There can be many imbalances that cause weight gain. When you pinpoint the imbalance, you can reverse the process and induce weight loss. To stop eating or cut down on snacks and calories is not always the answer. Until you get to the root of the imbalance, gaining and losing will become a cycle. Then each round will be more difficult than the last to lose any pounds.
Cravings and eating wrong foods is only a symptom of imbalance in body chemistry. Hyperinsulinism, glandular malfunction, emotional tensions and food allergies are common causes of weight gain and cravings for the wrong foods.
To attempt to mind control over these cravings and force your body to consume only X amount of calories can be useless against some of the root causes of weight gain. You can actually eat less and then continue to gain more or after strict dieting turn to binging from frustration.
The key is balance. When the body is back in balance and is receiving the nutrients it needs, the fat storage stops and weight balance is the inevitable.
